Relationship and Transformation

Relationship

God’s heart is to enjoy a relationship with you!

As revealed in Isaiah 48:17, He desires to teach us what is best for us and to show us the way to go, and more! To actually be the way!
In reading the Bible, we discover that God is not distant or silent, but clearly a communicating God. He reveals, tells, and says many things!

He longs to converse with us directly, guiding us through our personal circumstances.
And who would be a better guide than the One who knows all, the One who made our hearts and knows us best and loves us the most? Who could be a better Counsellor than the “Wonderful Counsellor” (Isaiah 9:6) Himself?

Jesus assures His disciples as He prepares to leave them –
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth… for He lives with you and will be in you… the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things” John 14:16-17, 26 (NIV)

Transformation

The goal of transformation is Christ likeness!

The transformation of our lives is accomplished by the activity of the Holy Spirit and our free will choice in desiring to be like Jesus. As we respond to the Lord’s work and submit to Him, the Holy Spirit reveals the will of the Father and applies the finished work of the Son.

He shows us the broken patterns in our lives.
He shows us the root causes to our bad fruit.
He brings His grace and healing where we are wounded.
He brings truth and deliverance where we are bound.
He forgives and corrects where we are disobedient.
He gives hope and joy where we are oppressed.

We experience God’s transforming work in our lives as we fix our eyes on Jesus and walk with Him in every situation.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” Luke 4:18,19

The Goal
The goal of transformation is Christ likeness. God wants us to be like Jesus and to reflect His glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18). The process of transformation is sanctification and involves the renewal of our spirits, souls and bodies. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 & 24)

As we experience in our own lives the truth of the gospel, we not only live a full life but we can in fact bless others! Everyone is a minister/priest! (2 Corinthians 1:4)
